Rocky I is a story about an underdog boxer who got the opportunity to fight the heavyweight championship winner, the catch is that he's only have 12 weeks to prepare for the match. The real reason why Rocky have the opportunity to fight this world champion is that no other opponent want to fight Apollo Creed, the winner of the heavyweight boxing champion of the world, in 12 weeks, so Apollo make some kind of 'America is the land of opportunity' speech to convince an underdog fighter to fight him.
